Copyright policy.

truerecs respects the rights of artists, photographers, brands and every other creator. Artists, brands and visitors can add photos, text and other content to truerecs. If you believe something on truerecs uses your work without permission, tell us and we will remove it.

Report infringement

Send a written notice to our designated copyright agent (below) that includes:

1. Your physical or electronic signature, or that of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner.
2. The copyrighted work you believe is infringed (or a representative list, if there are several).
3. The page on truerecs where the material appears, with its URL, so we can find it.
4. Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

We remove or disable the material promptly once we receive a complete notice, and tell the person who posted it. Gear guides written by truerecs also have a report form on every guide for errors and removal requests, no notice needed.

Counter notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send our agent a counter notice that includes your signature; the material that was removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where truerecs may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice. We forward it to them, and may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material.
