Draft terms for the truerecs validation period. These will be replaced by full terms before public launch.

Artists

You own your content. You grant truerecs a license to display it on your page and in search pages, and to use aggregated click and sales data (never your personal data) in reporting to brands. You may remove your page at any time. Payouts are made monthly for confirmed sales.

Brands

truerecs runs campaigns on your behalf. Artists opt in and may decline. truerecs does not act as an agent for artists and does not guarantee endorsements, reviews or sales.

Fans

Gear and other items are bought on retailer and partner sites under their terms. Some artists also sell their own digital products (samples, presets, lessons) through truerecs checkout; see below.

Digital products bought on truerecs

truerecs is the seller of digital products bought through its checkout; the artist who made them is the licensor. You buy a license, not the copyright. Samples, loops and MIDI can be used in your own music and released commercially, but not resold or shared as samples. Presets and project files are for making your own music, not for resale. Lessons are for your own learning.

Files are delivered straight after payment, so sales are final, except that we refund in full within 14 days if a file is broken and we can't fix it, it isn't as described, you were charged twice, or you didn't make the purchase. Write to support@truerecs.com with your order number.

Buyers in the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein normally have 14 days to cancel. At checkout we ask you to confirm that the download should start straight away and that you then lose that right. Your right to a fix, replacement or refund for a faulty item or one that isn't as described stays in place. Prices there include VAT.

Artists selling here. Only digital downloads you have the right to sell can be sold through truerecs checkout (presets, samples, project files, stems, lessons): no physical items, software or installers. You keep 100% of the price after the card fee for 90 days from your first sale here; after that truerecs keeps 8% of it and you keep 92%. A sale of your product through truerecs checkout becomes confirmed earnings 14 days after purchase, once the refund window has closed. A refund or chargeback before then cancels the earnings for that sale; a chargeback after that date is deducted from your next payout. Confirmed earnings are paid monthly with the rest of your earnings.
