What guitar does Phantogram play?

Josh Carter uses three Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass guitars into a Neural DSP Quad Cortex, strung with Ernie Ball Paradigm .010s. Sarah Barthel uses a custom sparkle Fender Mustang bass and a Fender Jazzmaster. Carter has said his go-to studio pedals include a Line 6 DL4 and Chase Bliss Mood MkII.

What guitar does Josh Carter play?

Premier Guitar's 2025 Rig Rundown showed three Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass guitars, which he plays as a Music Man endorsee, two with a Seymour Duncan single-coil-sized humbucker in the bridge.

What amp does Phantogram use?

Both members use Neural DSP Quad Cortex units onstage. Carter's patches include AC30, 5150, Fender tweed and Jazz Chorus style amps, and Barthel keeps a Fender Bassman stack behind her as an onstage monitor.

What pedals does Josh Carter use?

He has said his go-to studio pedals are the MXR Joshua, Line 6 DL4, Death By Audio Reverberation Machine, Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail, Chase Bliss Generation Loss MkII, Mood MkII and Automatone CXM 1978, and a Boss DD-500.
