Gary Lightbody has said he wrote and recorded Chasing Cars on a 1978 Fender Telecaster Deluxe, his main tour guitar for Final Straw and Eyes Open. The band have been seen using Shure Beta 58A and 57A stage mics, Kemper and Fractal guitar modelers live, and Ableton Live for playback.
