What guitar does Weezer play?

Rivers Cuomo has said he was very anti-effects on the Blue Album, which was cut mostly on Gibson Les Paul Juniors and Specials through a Mesa/Boogie Mark I. On Van Weezer he used a Les Paul Junior, a '61 SG Reissue, a Tom Anderson Pro-Am and his Warmoth sticker Strat.

Questions

About Weezer's gear.

What guitar did Rivers Cuomo use on the Blue Album?

Not his famous Blue Strat, which he found too heavy and bassy. Most parts were cut on vintage Gibsons borrowed from producer Ric Ocasek, a Les Paul Special and a Les Paul Junior, plus a red 1960s Fender Jaguar.

What amp does Rivers Cuomo use?

A Mesa/Boogie Mark I, his go-to in the Blue Album era, run through a tall Marshall cabinet. Producer Suzy Shinn found a similar Mark I for Van Weezer and used it on almost the whole album, with a Vox AC15 on two songs.

What pedals does Weezer use?

Very few. Cuomo has said the only guitar effect on the Blue Album is a little delay on the swells in Only in Dreams. On Van Weezer the go-to pedals were an Ibanez Tube Screamer and Mini, then a Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion.
